One player hides a word. Everyone else races to think the same thing at the same time, before the Dener can stop them.

3 to 12 players. No sign-up. Works on your phone.

How a round goes

  1. The Dener hides a word

Only its first letter goes up on the board.

  2. Drop a clue

Think of any word starting with those letters and describe it without saying it.

  3. Hit Contact!

Know the word behind a clue? Lock in your guess. Ten seconds on the clock.

  4. Break it

The Dener gets those ten seconds to guess the word and shut the contact down.

  5. Next letter!

If the Dener misses and your words match, another letter of the secret is revealed.

Why groups love it

ThoughtMatch is an online take on the party word game known as Contact. It turns a simple idea, thinking of the same word as a friend at the same moment, into a race against the one player who knows the answer. Every clue is a small bet on how well you know each other. Every contact is ten seconds of everyone holding their breath while the Dener scrambles to guess your word.

The game runs in any browser, so a room comes together in under a minute. Someone hosts, shares a code or link, and friends join from their phones, whether they're on the sofa next to you or on a call across the world. There are no accounts and nothing to install.

  • Secret words stay secret. Clue words are hidden until a contact resolves, so nobody can peek.
  • Fair words only. Secret and clue words must be real dictionary words: clever beats obscure.
  • Built for phones. Big buttons, a clear countdown, and a hint line telling you what to do next.
  • 3 to 12 players. Small groups get tense duels; big groups get a flood of clues.
